Gulab Jamun

Sugar | 2 ½ cups |
Water | 5 cups |
Cardamom | 8 |
1. Crack the cardamom and add sugar to water and bring to a boil. |
Powdered milk | 14 tablespoon |
Flour | 3 tablespoon |
Baking Powder | 1 tablespoon |
Oil | 3 tablespoon |
Egg | 1 |
Fresh Cream or Yogurt | 1 tablespoon |
2. Mix all the dry ingredients together. |
3. Add oil, yogurt and egg to make a dough. |
4. Make 30 to 35 balls while working quickly with the dough. |
5. Heat oil in a deep pan and fry half the amount of balls at a time till these turn evenly brown. |
6. Put all the fried balls in the sugar syrup and bring to a boil for 5 minutes then lower the flame and simmer for about 15 to 20 minutes with lid on. |
