Black Forest Cake

Flour | ½ cup |
Baking Powder | 1 tea spoon |
Eggs (separated) | 3 |
Ground Sugar | ½ cup |
Vanilla/ chocolate essence | Few drops |
Cocoa Powder | 1 table spoon |
Coffee powder | 1 tea spoon |
1. Sift flour, coco powder, coffee powder & baking powder together and keep ready. |
2. Hard beat the egg whites until peak forms. |
3. While beating add egg yolks one at a time. |
4. Slowly add sugar and essence while beating. |
5. Now add flour and mix with hands while leaving bubbles in the batter. |
6. Bake for 30 – 35 minutes at 150° – 200° C/ 300° – 400° F/ Gas mark 4 |
Sugar | 4 – 6 Table spoons |
Water | 1 cup |
Lemon Juice | 1 |
7. Cook sugar and water until golden then add lemon juice and keep aside to cool. |
Tip: Soak the sponge cake once the cake has cooled down. |
Fresh Milk | 1 litre |
Cocoa Powder | 2 – 3 table spoon |
Coffee | 1 ½ tea spoon |
Sugar | ½ cup |
8. Cook these ingredients stirring continually. After the sauce cools down layer it over the soaked lower portion of cake. |
9. Now layer with fruits and then with cream. |
10. Place the above halved cake and let set. |
11. Finish icing with topping of fruits, chocolate and chocolate sauce. |
