Hilsa (Ilish er gada) | 4-5 pieces of |
Salt | To taste |
Turmeric Powder | ½ teaspoon |
Mustard Oil | 2 tablespoon |
Onion Paste | 2 tablespoons |
Cumin paste | ½ teaspoon |
Pineapple puree with Chunks | 1 cup |
Red Chilli Powder | ½ teaspoon |
Water | 1 cup |
1. Marinate the fish pieces with salt and turmeric powder. |
2. Heat a pan with oil and fry the fish pieces and set aside. |
3. Now in the same pan add the onion, cumin and pineapple puree. |
4. Stir in the red chilli powder, salt and ½ cup of water. Cook until the water dries up and the oil starts to float on top. |
5. Add another ¼ cup of water and the fish pieces. |
6. Put the lid on and allow one side of the fish pieces to cook. |
7. Remove the lid and reverse the sides of fish pieces. |
8. Put the lid on and allow the sides of the fish pieces to cook. |
9. Serve with plain white rice. |
